Editor’s Note – Yes, ladies and gentlemen, after a long absence, Jazdinian is back! I’ve been thinking quite a bit recently about some changes I’d love to see in World of Warcraft. Overall, I’m pretty happy, but like many folks, I do have a wish list of things that Blizzard could change or add that I believe would be positive for the players. Mostly quality of life things … not game changers here, and not nerfs, but basic enhancements. Who better to address (most of) these than Jazdinian? So, without further ado, here is the first in what I hope will be a series of articles from our ace reporter in Azeroth.
———–
Greetings from Azeroth! Jazdinian here, and I’m sorry to have been gone so long. I have adventured some, but mostly I’ve been taking a break, and visiting with some of my cousins who are always eager to tell me of their travels.
The forces that govern our world have done quite a bit over the years to assist us with our work for the various groups that inhabit the world. They have allowed us to fly in even more places than before, given us better ways to meet up with other adventurers to serve our world, and rewarded us with better armor and weapons as our missions increase in difficulty. These are only a few of the boons that we have been granted.
One thing that my cousins and I have noticed over the years is the large number of different factions in all corners of our world. Many of these factions have need of the services of adventurers, and we can earn rewards from them faster if we will wear their colors, thus letting others know of our service to them, and hopefully encouraging those we encounter along the way to help those factions as well.
Azeroth is a wondrous and magical place, and I must admit I don’t pretend to know how some of the magic works. For example, we have mounts and even playful companions that we can conjure without having to always carry their physical form with us in our bags. So why could someone not find a way for faction tabards to work in a similar fashion?
Right now, tabards must take up space either in our traveling bags or in our bank vault. Already many of us have trouble finding room for all of our possessions, and if these were able to be magically conjured without having to carry it with us, it would be very helpful.
I will admit that many adventurers complete all the work for a given faction and then move on to another, and may not have a need for that tabard again, thus meaning they can permanently store it in the bank or perhaps sell it for a bit of silver. However, there are times when I find myself working for different factions at the same time. Also, there are times when I am working specifically on behalf of my adventuring guild, and therefore have a need to wear our colors for a time, often needing to change tabards quickly while away from a major city.
Tabards are definitely a good idea, and help both the adventurers and the factions we serve. However, a better method for managing them is something that is on my wish list of things that would make life better in Azeroth.
